High-sensitivity resonant AE sensors for crack detection, leakage monitoring, and structural health monitoring
General purpose acoustic emission sensors are passive resonant AE sensors designed for high-sensitivity detection within a specific frequency range. Compared with broadband sensors, resonant AE sensors provide higher sensitivity and a better signal-to-noise (SNR) ratio, making them suitable for source location, crack detection, leakage monitoring, corrosion activity, and structural health monitoring when the target frequency range is known.
These sensors do not have a built-in preamplifier, so an external AE preamplifier is typically required between the sensor and the acquisition system.
